New Fingerprinting Process for CPA Exam Applicants

Effective August 1, 2014, individuals who submit the following applications are also required to comply with the Board's fingerprinting   process.

  • Application of Intent to take the CPA Examination
  • Application of Intent to Transfer Credits earned on the CPA Examination
  • Issuance Application for the CPA Certificate
  • Reciprocal Application for the CPA Certificate

The fingerprinting process allows the Board to access an individual's criminal history records from the FBI and all U.S. states and territories. The process uses the FAST system established by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) through a contractual agreement with IdentoGO, a third party vendor. There are locations throughout Texas which makes it convenient for a person to be fingerprinted. The estimated response time for reports from DPS to the Board is 24-48 hours. More information is available on the Board's website under the Exam/Qualifications... Moral Character tab.
