Continuing Professional Education Exemption
General Instructions:
Some individuals may be exempt from the continuing professional education requirements due to conditions of work, residency, or health. Board Rule §523.113 describes situations where an exemption will be granted. The "Continuing Professional Education Exemption" form contains the following parts:
- Affidavit for Exemption from Continuing Professional Education - Must be completed by all applicants.
- Affidavit for Exemption A - Complete if you will not be employed.
- Affidavit for Exemption B - Complete if you will be employed and have no association with accounting work.
- Affidavit for Exemption C - Complete if you will not reside in Texas.
- Affidavit for Exemption D - Complete if you have a medical exemption.
- Affidavit for Exemption E - Complete if you will be on active military duty.
- Affidavit for Exemption F - Complete if you will have extenuating circumstances that prevent compliance.
Submit the "Affidavit for Exemption from Continuing Professional Education", the appropriate "Affidavit for Exemption" and any other required supporting documents to the Board.
As an example, if you will be on active military duty, you qualify for Exemption E. Submit the "Affidavit for Exemption from Continuing Professional Education" form, the "Affidavit for Exemption E" form, and a copy of your military orders.
