State Board Seeks Fine and Revocation of Arthur Andersen LLP’s License in Enron Case

(AUSTIN) The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy filed a notice of hearing to seek the revocation of Arthur Andersen’s accounting license because of the firm’s role in the Enron collapse.

In the notice filed today through the office of the Attorney General, the Board is asking for at least $1 million in fines and penalties. A date for the hearing has not been set by the State Office of Administrative Hearings, the entity that hears administrative cases brought by state licensing agencies. A copy of the notice is attached.

The Board began its investigation into the Andersen/Enron matter in Nov. 2001.
