Restablecimiento de una licencia

Reinstatement Requirements for Certain Individuals Who Have Moved to another State

A former Texas licensee who moved out of state and became licensed in that state, and who now seeks reinstatement in Texas, can be reinstated at a reduced fee. Review the following checklist to determine if you qualify.

Individual Reinstatement Checklist

To qualify, you must be able to answer “Yes” to all the requirements:

  1. I was licensed in Texas.
  2. I failed to renew my license as required for three consecutive years, which resulted in the revocation of my license in accordance with Section 901.502 (3) or (4) of the Public Accountancy Act.
  3. I moved to another state, and I have been in practice and licensed in that state for the preceding two years.

If you meet all the requirements in the Individual Reinstatement Checklist, you may obtain a new license in Texas by completing the following steps.

  • Complete the Affidavit for Reinstatement of Individual License. This form is available from the Board’s website, or by contacting the Licencias Division at (512) 305-7853, or by emailing the licensing division at Licencias. (If your license has expired in the state that you moved to, you will be given a 90-day window from the date your license expired to submit the Affidavit for Reinstatement of Individual License form to the Board.)
  • Submit to the Board a copy of your most recent license in the state that you moved to as evidence of you licensure in that state.
  • After the Board approves your Affidavit for Reinstatement of Individual License you will receive an individual license renewal. You will be required to pay a reduced license fee to the Board.
  • After meeting all the requirements for licensure, you will receive a Texas license.
